Message | My dad was in the army and fought in the Korean war...he died 16 yrs ago and I so wish I would have paid more attention to the stories he told...one story that was a little familiar is they tried to take this mountain or possibly just a ridge...everytime, they did, many Americans were killed...finally they realized that the koreans were coming out of tunnels that were dug in the side of the mountain....His name was Rex Oliver Hughes and if alive he woud be 80 yrs old. He died of a heart attack 16 yrs ago...anyone who might just happen to have known him, please email me at nthompson@etmc.org. Thank You |

Message | I am Capt. Michael Luosey's grandaughter and I was so pleased to come across all this wonderful history about my Grampa! I have unending respect for all that he accomplished. Some of my best memories from childhood are sitting on his footstool listening to all his Naval stories while he smoked his cigar! He was a remarkable man in every way. He was the kindest soul and I miss him tremendously. Thank you for always thinking of him and for honoring him! You are a remarkable bunch and Grampa always spoke so highly of ya'll! Many blessings, Magen Calland |

Message | Doing research for my brother Sgt Frank Armstrong, from San Francisco CA. He served in a forward area during the Korean War. May/June of 1952 to Jan/Feb 1953? He was with the 7th Infantry, 7th Signal Corp, HQ Tank Battalion. Know a couple of the guys he served with, one was a Sgt Olsen (received the Silver Star) and the other was a Sgt Pipalee. But I need help with where they were located for his VA claim. Appreciate any assistance, ideas on where to get in contact with people he served with or how I can get the info needed to show he served in the front. Have a couple of pictures but need more info on where and when he served. He told me he was in a "Zone 3 Area" because the North Koreans where only shelling them 4 days straight in a row. If they had done it 5 days in a row he would of been serving in a "Zone 4 Area"? Really appreciate any help, I only have 60 days from 11/3 to get his Appeal Filed with the VA. I am also a VET and appreciate any/all help suggestions. P.S. If you send me an e-mail, make mention of this request in the subject line so I do not trash it as junk mail. Thanks again in advance for your assistance. |

Message | My uncle Howard Livingston was drafted into the Army in 1950 and was in there until 1952. He now has passed on. I wish that someone or the government would recognize the many men who served their country durning this period by having a registery put on the computer like the registery that has been set up to honor the men in World War II. I would like to honor my uncle for all he did to help protect the people of the United States of America durning war times. In my eyes he was a Man. To my Uncle Howard Livingston I honor you for your bravery and I miss you. Love, your niece Dorothy McNees |
